Where's the Lodge's Gavel?
Traveling Gavel Exchange
There are many things, people, and objects that can promote a sense of brotherhood and friendship among society, and in the case of the Masons, it happens to be a traveling gavel. For over 40 years, the gavel has been ceremoniously passed from one Lodge to the next creating bonds between those that otherwise might’ve never met.
The Traveling Gavel is an on-going fun event within the separate districts of Massachusetts and throughout Masonry to encourage Stated Meeting attendance and promote fellowship between symbolic lodges' visitations throughout the Masonic Year.
The Gavel is able to be transferred only within the Stated Regular Communications of a given Lodge. Some Lodge Gavels have specific rules how it is allowed to be transfer to the next Lodge.
On this page we are going to list the individual Traveling Gavel rules of each Lodge, show you a picture of each Gavel, post the new locations at the time of transfer, and allow for the posting of pictures that follows the gavels journey around the state.
We will soon post a form here for reporting a Gavel Grab and submitting a picture from the event.
This will help keep Lodges informed of its whereabouts and allow proper planning of a Traveling Fellowship of Brothers to execute the next acquisition .
