Massachusetts 23rd Masonic District
A Gathering of Good Men
Massachusetts Freemasons have met regularly in this Commonwealth since the year 1733. We've made a lot of history in that time and created a Brotherhood of some very good men. George Washington, Ben Franklin, Paul Revere, John Hancock just to name a few. Approaching our 300th anniversary we gather together to take the opportunity to enjoy the lost art fellowship.
A common expression used to describe Freemasonry is that it exists to “make good men better.” To this end we gather to teach those universal ethical principles that guide all good men. We learn to act with kindness in the home, honesty in business, courtesy in society, fairness in work, pity and concern for the unfortunate, resistance toward evil, help for the weak, forgiveness for the penitent, love for one another, and above all, reverence and love for God.
These principles are so universal to the basis of a working society that they are an essential way of life for each of its members. We remind each other that an active life is a well lived life.
We do all this through monthly activities locally around our hometowns within the 23rd District, with more around the state and sometimes around the country. Come join us during our open to the public events or even ask about what it takes to become a Freemason in your local Lodge. We promise you will enjoy as a Brother, opportunities to learn, to serve and to have fun along the way in the company of men who find inner fulfillment and satisfaction of being a Freemason.
Check out on this site our event listings which feature public and member-only events.
